Competition in the compact luxury crossover segment is fierce. No surprises there. To stand out here, a car has to get both the tangibles and the intangibles right. The 2025 Genesis GV70 does just that.

The 2025 Genesis GV70 Offers Elegance in a Dynamic Form

Some cars you just drive, but the GV70 makes you do a double take every time you walk past it. Its dark-tinted grille, sculpted silhouette, steeply raked rear window pillar, and signature two-line front and back lighting easily position it as one of the most attractive offerings in its class.

What’s more, you’ve got plenty of chances to personalize. Choose from eight glossy and three matte exterior colors, then pick your wheels: 19-inch Dark Hyper Silver or 21-inch Dark Sputtering, depending on your style.

Interior

The next area this vehicle gets right is the interior. Leatherette seats are standard, with the front two featuring heating and power adjustments. If you go up a trim or two, you can sink into real leather or even full-blown Nappa leather. Most surfaces, from the dashboard to the door panels to the A-pillars, are finished in soft-touch materials.

From there, it’s the little things: knurled knobs, satin-finish accents, a bit of crystal here, some brushed metal there. And yes, you can have actual colors here, like Ultramarine Blue, Ocean Waves Blue & Havana Brown, and Slate Gray & Velvet Burgundy. There’s real practicality involved here as well. This model swallows seven carry-ons behind the rear seats and 22 if you fold the seats down.

Powertrain

The 2025 GV70 comes standard with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but if you’re after something zestier, the 3.5T model swaps in a turbocharged V6. The four-cylinder engine makes 300 horsepower and gets 24 mpg combined with the standard 19-inch wheels (22 mpg if you opt for the 21s). It can tow up to 3,500 pounds with trailer brakes.

The V6 packs a potent 375 horsepower and returns 20 mpg, no matter the wheels. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.

Technology

It’s a Genesis. That means technology with intent. You get two main displays: an eight-inch part-analog, part-digital gauge cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment screen with high-definition graphics and excellent response. The latter can also be controlled via a rotary knob located on the center console, which is great for ease of use when you’re on the move.

Other standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a dedicated climate control panel neatly integrated into its own section in the dashboard. Higher trims upgrade the gauge cluster to a 12.3-inch unit with 3-D effect dials. A built-in camera then tracks your gaze, ensuring key information remains easily visible regardless of your viewing angle.
